Zipato security - is there an external siren available

I note that z-wave distributers can sell "internal" sirens that are both battery powered and mains powered.

Does anyone know if there are EXTERNAL sirens available that are UK weatherproof?

Thanks for the clarification, but z-wave external sirens don't seem to exist anyway....

Hi Ivan,

you’re selling the zipato box like an alarm system with partitions, rfid reader, etc... what type of alarm we can make without siren? There's a lot of siren z-wave... Can zipabox support them?

@Marcus there's a lot of siren z-wave but only one is for outdoor use -> fortrezz SSA3

Hi EddyZWave

I have come to the conclusion that the best option is probably to use a weatherproof non- z-wave external mains (and battery backed) siren that links into the Zipato "security" module. The security module plugs into the Zipabox and supports up to 6 hard wired devices in addition to the external "BELL". I do not yet have mine but I was told by Ziapto that all the hard wired devices into the security module become visible as sensors to the Zipato UI. This means you can use them in any home automation rules you create.

I am a little uncomfortable with just z-wave sensors for security because z-wave only appears to be fully stable when you provide mains based repeaters to generate a mesh network. Without those mains based repeaters, your sensors need to communicate directly with the Zipabox which may not work owing to internal obstructions.

In these cases, to disable communications of far flung window/door sensors all a thief needs to do is cut electricity to the property and your z-wave mesh collapses.

:(

Fortunately Zipato has the security module so you can build your system around that without having to install a separate security system.

I recently used the essay writing services from Reddit and was very satisfied with the quality of work I received. The writers were knowledgeable and the essay came out perfect.

Yes, there are UK weatherproof external sirens available in the market. These sirens are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions such as heavy rain, strong winds, and extreme temperatures. They are commonly used for outdoor security systems and alarm systems.

When purchasing an external siren, it's important to ensure that it has a high IP rating, which indicates its level of weatherproofing. An IP rating of at least IP65 is recommended for outdoor use, as it provides protection against dust and water.

There are several brands and models of weatherproof external sirens available from various suppliers and online retailers. It's recommended to do some research and read reviews before making a purchase to ensure that you choose a high-quality and reliable product. My Sanford Chart Login

Yes, there are external sirens available for use with the Zipato home security system. Zipato is compatible with a range of Z-Wave enabled external sirens, which can be easily integrated into the Zipato system to provide an audible alarm in the event of a security breach. Some examples of compatible external sirens include:

  1. Aeotec Siren Gen5: This is a Z-Wave enabled siren that can be easily integrated with the Zipato system. It features a loud 105dB siren and can also be configured to flash a strobe light when triggered.
  2. Vision ZM1601US-5: This is another Z-Wave enabled siren that can be used with the Zipato system. It features a 105dB siren and can also be configured to flash a strobe light when triggered.
  3. Fortrezz SSA-01: This is a Z-Wave enabled siren and strobe light that can be used with the Zipato system. It features a 110dB siren and a bright strobe light that can be configured to flash when triggered.

It's important to note that the specific compatibility and integration steps may vary depending on the particular model of the external siren and the version of the Zipato system you are using. You should consult the user manual or documentation for both the Zipato system and the external siren to ensure proper setup and integration. My Sanford Chart

The Zipato external siren is typically installed outside the premises, such as on the exterior wall of a house or building. It is a loud and attention-grabbing device that emits a high-decibel sound when activated. The siren can be configured to sound different tones or patterns to indicate different types of alarms or events.

To set up the Zipato external siren, it needs to be paired with a compatible Zipato controller or hub. Once connected, you can configure the siren's behavior and settings through the Zipato app or the web interface provided by the controller. This allows you to customize the siren's activation triggers, volume, duration, and other parameters based on your specific security requirements.
