Zipato (Zigbee) Smoke Detectors not tripping alarm

Caleb Jones shared this problem 5 years ago
Solved

I have 4 Zipato branded, zigbee smoke detectors (made by Heiman). They're part of an alarm partition. When I test them with smoke, they beep until the smoke clears but they never set off the alarm, send notifications, etc. Nothing happens at the Zipatile.

I've also noticed that all 4 smoke detectors show OFFLINE until they sense smoke. I have removed them from the controller and re-added them. They immediately show Offline Status.

Screen shots attached.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am not sure but the red bullet means, most of the time, that the sensor is not in range with the controller. I do not know what this distance is at yoor place but keep in mind that battery operated sensors are not part of the mesh network (they use it, but are not part of it). So distance may be too large.

Thanks. I pressed the test button on each smoke detector and they all came onlome except for one. It could be a distance issue for that one. The others are close.

However, if I test them with smoke, I get no alarms. I also setup a rule to unlock a door if any smoke detector senses smoke. That slow doesn't happen when testing with smoke.

I have same issue, no state change in case of smoke alarm; How it was solved?
