Is it possible to use dimmer state as condition ?

have tried without success to use dimmer (AEON LABS Smert energy illuminator) as a condition in rules.

for example : if level > 50% then ...

Is it possible, and if not is it planned to add this possibility ?

Thanks a lot

It is possible, what are you using as "when" in this rule?

A motion detection

and for example in an other rule i want to try :

when level > 50 :

wait XX s

Switch off

(to emulate light timer)

I have found for a "simple" ON / OFF" Module like AN157, I put the "Control" in the "measure" and it works, but I can't put the AEON LABS micro module n the "measure"" block

You can use dimmer as rule trigger.

Example:

When I add the Aeon Labs smart energy, that's what I have (attached file)

I don't know what are each value.

This dimmer measure power, maybe one or 2 values for that... but there is many more than 2 values.

Ok, your device was not fully supported. Now we added support for it (you will see it as "Dimmer with meter"). Try now to create your rule.

Tanks, I see now the 3 states (cannot test now in real conditions)

How can I do the same for my others dimmer with meter ? I don't found the category.

Thanks again

Now we applied descriptors to all of your dimmers.

OK thanks, I will ask you again here when my 2 new dlmmers will be installed (They are actually in their boxes)

Thanks again !

SOrry to post again but there is the same problem with my 2 AN157+.

When I put them in the "meter" box, I have no choice : "no attributes"

Impossible to control if it is ON or OFF

In my memory it was working before, but I am a new user of the zipabox, I have tried many different things, maybe it has never worked.

I have tried to exclude / include one of the 2 module without success.

Is it the same reason ?

ON/OFF is state not value that you measure so you should put it in sensor puzzle if you want to use ON/OFF events.

Thanks.

Is the "Sensor" puzzle is returning the state or the action ?

If I want to control the state of the plug instead of the "on/OFF" action, what can I do ? Is it possible ?

Thanks again

Now I'm not sure that we are talking about the same thing.

If you want to control your switch/dimmer, there is only one action puzzle. You put your device in it and choose action (dimmer doesn't have on/off actions, so if you want to turn it off you should choose action 'Gotovalue' and set value to 0).

That was a question for AN157. Thanks for the answer.

I have tested and answered :

If I put the sensor puzzle (with the AN157 inside) in "when", the next steps are played when I switch the AN157 (ON, OFF, or ANY)

If I put the sensor puzzle (with the AN157 inside) in "If", the next steps are played if the AN157 is in the required state (ON or OFF)

Hi,

there are installed now.

It is a "2" verson, the problem is different.

I have the "cumulative" value, but not the "current"

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

My problem is always here.

My 2 new dimmers are registered on the box, but a value is missing :"current_consumption"

Thanks for helping me
