Need Answer

Hi

I am trying to include a Fibaro door/window sensor. Followed the awkward instructions and managed to it included.

Efter 15-20 minuts it suddenly looks like the attached photo in the device manager (with state underneath)

Can anybody explain why - and how I remove the state info below?

... and no. It is not working correctly.

Unreliable and very very slow when it does work.

No, Sorry.

I am from Denmark - so English would be the safest solution. :-)

Hello Thomas,

Does it change state to "Closed" when you open the door??

What is the status of the "Home_Security" button ??

I also have some problems with this senor but I live with the inverted state, Open when door is closed and VV...

Best regards

Hi Torbjorn

Yes it is inverted. And that really doesn't play well with the alarm.

How do you managed to live with the inverted setup when it is part of an alarm?

I don't see any settings to reverse that in the Zipato.

This is my first non-Zipato sensor in the house. Not exactly the best test case.

Hi Thomas,

Since I don't use the alarm yet this is not an issue for me but I understand if you can not use it properly when you have the alarm function in the Zipabox running.

Strange this devie. I did NOT have the inverted function to start with but after some (hours or days, can't remember) the state was inverted. Then I did a factory reset according to instruction on this forum, excluding/including a gain. After this the state was "normal" for a while but, again, it changed to the inverted state after a while...

I have a few other door/window sensor of different brands, they work as expected.

I can not judge whether its the sensor itself or the Zipato implementation in the software that causes these problems.

Can Zipato Team confirm that this sensor works OK in their software implementation ??

I'm on latest Beta FW

Any other users who have this problem with the Fibaro Door/Window sensor ??

Well acutally it is not always inverted. It flips from open to close without any reason.

In my view this sensor is not supported by Zipato. It has caused me so many issued already that I will stop using it and find something else.

What is the best alternative - that is supported by Zipato?

I also noticed it's a bit unreliable......

The reason I did not include it in the alarm was exactly this, you could not rely on the function....100%...

I'm right now testing the Aeotec Door/Window sensor 6, just monitoring reliability, I don't know if it works with the alarm yet...

Otherwise, the Zipato Door/Window sensor would probably be the most obvious choice....pricewise it's the same...

It just might be the "not having the magnet anywhere near the sensor" when including it after you screw it into place. Read here: https://community.zipato.com/topic/how-to-use-a-fibaro-fgk-101-door-window-sensor

I have the same problem and will try to reinclude tonight following the tips in the link.

I have tried all tricks mentioned in the posts in this forum - and I cannot get to work for more than a day. After that it goes inverted and even flips back and forth several times.

Even tested it in a test setup where the external tamper for sure has been kept pressed. And it still not function for more than a day.

Look forward to here more about your tests.
