*Rule examples that work, and ideas how to further develop them!*

Under Consideration

Hi,

If you are like me, always struggling to get the rules to work, then I would encourage you to post your WORKING rules here so that we don't have to struggle as much each time. If we could collect a few rules here it would be easy to find something that fits your usage. I'll post some of mine working rules, and I appreciate any feedback of they could be done better.

This will also give other users ideas on how to make their homes smarter :)

There is more here: https://community.zipato.com/topic/useful-rules-post-your-rules-here

Shouldnt we all post to the wiki instead?

Oh, I've looked for such a thread but did not find it. I'll post my rules in there. Would be great if Zipato could actually Stick such threads to the top. Thanks!

Edit: About the Wiki, i personally think it's better to keep them here on the support forum. But i guess it would be easy enough to copy them over.

I think it would be easier to find if they where on the wiki. Its not always that easy to find things here.

Hello guys,

Rules examples can also be found in our Knowledgebase in the Rules Creator section

Yes there are, but you should maybe start updating them (?)

Example, your motion activated light example uses the operator "between and" and that did not work now (or atleast not for me). I had to use the variable "time between and" to get the rule working. :)

Also, the images are uncropped and very low resolution.

Sensor: Fibaro Motion Sensor

Actuator: Zipato RGBW Bulb

Purpose of the rule: Set RGBW bulb luminosity to 100% if the motion sensor has detected motion and the luminosity in the room is less than 50 lux, also this rule will only turn on the light if the bulb is completely off. This is so if you entered the room and then you activated an scene, lets say, you dim the light to 50% this rule wont override the luminosity set by the scene.

Nice, thanks for sharing. Great to have the lux implemented :)

No problem!!

Rule: If movement is detected in livingroom and lux is below 700 turn on lights defined in scene. Rule is restricted between 05:30 and 06:30 and 12:30 and 16:00 hrs (kids coming home and does not turn on lights for their homework :)) .

Hi Guys, just a thought. If you remember on Henry (the master of restart detector,...if you are using Zipabox, add a stop puzzle at the end of each rule. If it made a difference for him, than more or less it should also help you.

Shame Henry will now leave this community, but still we should hold together.

I find pleasantly surprising that it is now nearly 2 weeks, and so far noone had any topic on any bugs with ZipaTile. This is a good indication...

Attila,

I remember the post about the restarts on Zipabox, actually mine has never restarted on its own, I guess my internet is realiable and I havent added any Http device yet. Anyway, I would like to know what was the improvement that Henry experienced when adding a STOP at the end of each rule, if you can share I will appreciate it.

Hi Macias, here is the post. https://community.zipato.com/topic/zipabox-restarts-without-apparent

Overall his restarts reduced from 5 restart per day to 2 restarts per day...Still scary though.

Really don't have any problems with the box, and not the rules stated here either.

Mine has never restarted, I have implemented Henry's rule... Weird.
